Public transportation in Milan is a fast and convenient way to move through the city.
Milan has a network of four underground lines, usually identified by their colour on the map, rather than their number.
Underground Line 1 is coloured red, Line 2 is green, Line 3 is yellow, while Line 5 is lilac. We haven’t forgotten line 4: it is still under construction and will be ready in 2022 (a bit too late for the conference :) ).
First underground trains start at 5.30am and end at approximately 12.30am. There is a night bus substitute service active until 1.30am and from 4.30am during work days, and all night long during the weekends.
Public transport tickets are valid for all underground and overground lines, as well as regional trains within the city limit.
From the city centre to the conference venue (MM1 – Red Line – stop Sesto Rondò) you need to buy the U+1/2 zone ticket that costs Euro 1,90 (regular Urban ticket costs 1,50 for a single ride or 13,80 for 10 rides).
